Who's Swigg

Swigg stands for "Strength Within Girls Group".  This site was created by women and girls like you — they’re smart, fun and they know what it’s like to be youthful, free and faced with all the challenges and triumphs that life brings. Our motto is share, learn and lead. This online community was created to help you do just that.

Swigg is a place where your voice can be heard, where you can discuss the things that crowd your mind on the walk way to school, the ride to soccer practice, or when you’re standing in front of a window display at the mall. Most importantly, swigg is a girl-positive space where you will be listened to, respected, taken seriously — and a space where it’s ok to laugh while you learn.

Imagine yourself climbing a mountain at 5am in the morning. You are following the footsteps of people from all over the world.  It is predawn, the moon is still visible, but the glow of a pending sunrise is beginning.
Imagine you have spent two weeks completely immersed in a cultural experience like none you have ever known.  Imagine the view at the top of this mountain as day breaks.  There is silence and a certain reverence to it. I am in Greece overlooking the grounds of the original Olympic games.
I am asked to read the words of the founder of the Modern Olympic Games and I am part of history for this moment.

One of the most difficult challenges for me when I was a young woman was learning how to stand in my own shoes.  By that I mean becoming aware of my principles, what I stood for, what I believed in and where my boundaries were.   My vision for swiggtalk.com is to provide a place for young women to explore their own voice and share their vision for the future. It is also a spot to discover your own truths and to learn strategies to stand by those truths.  As you act and speak from a place of honesty within yourself, problems will be easily solved and all kinds of new opportunity will emerge to help direct you to peace, happiness and meaningful contribution.
