Here are some great recipes you may enjoy.
Granola
Ingredients:
· ½ cup grapeseed oil
· ½ cup honey
· ¼ tsp salt
· 3 cups oatmeal
· ½ cup slivered almonds or walnuts, sunflower seeds (optional)
· ½ cup each any dried fruit, unsweetened coconut (optional)
Method:
Measure oil, honey and salt in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat. Honey is easiest to measure in a well oiled measuring cup. Heat the oil, honey and salt till hot add oatmeal and optional nuts (if using) and stir until completely mixed.
Turn mixture onto an ungreased cookie sheet 9 by 13 – inch pan. Spread granola evenly.
Bake at 375F for 10 -15 minutes. It should be toasty brown. Remove from oven and allow it to cool and crisp in the pan. Add dried fruit when granola has cooled.
Serve with milk or top your favourite yogurt with berries and a 3 tbsp of granola on top.

Savory Snack Mix
Ingredients:
· 3 cups shredded wheat squares
· 3 cups toasted oat cereal
· ¼ cup grapeseed oil
· 1 tsp garlic salt
· Dash hot pepper sauce (optional)
· 2 cups multigrain pretzels
· 3 cups air popped popcorn
Method:
In a large bowl measure cereals. Stir together oil and seasoning. Pour over cereal and stir to coat, mix well.
Place mixture on a large baking pan and bake at 250F for 45 minutes, stir every 15 – 20 min. Cool and add pretzels and popcorn.
Fruit and Yogurt Smoothie
Ingredients:
· ½ cup vanilla flavour yogurt or your favourite flavour
· ½ cup any frozen fruit
· ½ cup any flavour 100% juice
Method:
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Optional: Add 1 Tbsp of wheat germ.
Quick Oatmeal for One
Ingredients:
· 1 cup water
· ½ cup quick rolled oats
· 2 tsp brown sugar
· ¼ tsp cinnamon
Method:
In a microwavable bowl, combine water and rolled oats. Microwave on high for 2 minutes stir and crumble brown sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon let stand for 1 to 2 minutes.
Optional: Add 1 TBSP raisins or replace cinnamon with vanilla extract or maple.
Taco Snack Mix
An easy taco seasoned snack mix recipe, made with pretzel sticks, melted butter, popcorn, and cereals.
Ingredients:
·4 cups assorted square wheat, rice or corn cereals
·4 cups small pretzel sticks
·4 cups air popped popcorn
·1 envelope taco seasoning mix
·1/4 cup melted butter
Method:
Combine all ingredients except margarine in a large bowl, tossing to coat well with seasoning. Drizzle with melted butter and toss to coat well. Store in an airtight container. Makes 12 cups. A party mix recipe with Ranch dressing and cereals.
