Be the difference

Hello Ladies, I am completely new to the swigg talk forums but have been blogging for a bit on other websites for fun. Love to write, and hoping it will inspire others to do so as well.

Recently I stumbled upon a website thelivingmemoir.org I came across it from watch The Real World on MTV. It is a website/soon to be non-profit organization for those going through hardships. Nate which is a character in the television show created this idea to help others get help through writing anonymous posts online where others can respond and give some support to those who feel there is nothing left. I set up an account and started to read through hundreds of posts, and was touched by how many people were actually responding and creating a great back bone of support through this website.
In this day and age the internet has came to change the lives of many, not only those going through hard times. The power of internet in this new 'MTV generation' has been incredible as seen through many organizations being started on the internet it is great marketing but also a good way to help others without leaving the comfort of your own home. Some people find no interest in this sort of thing but I believe that words are the most powerful thing a person can use to alter someones perceptions and emotions. Words can influence the world.
After I read a bunch of these messages, with people who have carried burdens of alcoholic family members, people close to them committing suicide, not feeling good enough, people with the thoughts of not being able to continue living life. I began to write back to others, I began to show my own support through this website in hopes to touch the hearts and souls of people I will more than likely never meet in my life. Its people like you and I who are able to make the difference, able to sway peoples thoughts into good ones. See the light throughout all of the darkness this world has to offer. Just because the grass isn't greener on the immediate other side... it always has the potential to become green and lushes. I highly recommend taking a minute out of your day to check this website out. thelivingmemoir.org jsut read a story... or two if your feeling up for it write some words of wisdom to those who are unable to give themselves the motivation to see the better part of life.
Most of us are so very fortunate to not have many downfalls in our life, that doesn't mean we have to ignore those around us hurting. The person beside you smiling on the outside doesn't mean they aren't hurting inside.
Reach out. Touch someone.... BE THE DIFFERENCE. Don't just stand by and watch.
