The Pursuit of Happyness, by Chris Gardner

This is my favourite book of all time. It's an autobiography of the self-made billionaire, Chris Gardner. There's also a movie, but you know what they say, the book is always better than the movie... even if Will Smith is the lead. The movie actually only covers the last quarter of the book. What they miss is Chris's brutal childhood, and the moves he makes as he enters adulthood. The rest you see in the movie as he becomes a father, and, finally, an incredibly successful businessman. I don't want to give to much of the book away, but just let me say Chris went through hell trying to get where is is today. Sometimes I feel like I am going through similar pain, or maybe a friend of mine is, and I can say, "Could be worse, all we can do is keep going and keep pushing." It's very basic advice, but it's the "keep pushing" part that matters the most. People shouldn't be afraid to go after what they want, just be the squeaky wheel and don't let up until you are satisfied. This book has inspired me to be resilient, and see how far I can take myself.
