Introducing Vancouver Pop/Rock Musician Hailey Morgan...

Hey all you Awesome Swiggtalk Girls!

I'm Vancouver pop/rock musician Hailey Morgan. A bit about me? I'm 16, I love making music and I am most comfortable rockin' out in front of a crowd with my fun piano-style of indie rock!

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t listening to music, dancing, or singing along to one of my parent’s old tapes of Billy Joel or The Beatles. There was always some form of music going on in the house. I started writing songs at 8 years old, at 15, I released my debut album “YOU & ME” and the momentum kept building ’til I was gigging steadily and getting my name out there!

This past January I competed in the BC's Best Teen Band Contest hosted by Youthink Magazine, Tom Lee Music, and The Peak 100.5FM. What an awesome experience it was! Since it is called a band contest, I wasn't sure how far I would make it as a solo artist, but on January 7th - I woke up, checked my email, and found out I had been chosen as one of the Top 10 from over 50 entries across BC! 

Being a part of the contest was amazing because I really got to see how many people love my music! I had fans across Canada voting for me everyday, the fantastic Vancouver band Hey Ocean! and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse stars Jodelle Ferland and Cainan Wiebe were sending shout-outs to all their fans to vote - not to mention all the fam, friends, and fellow music-makers that were voting as well! I didn't make it into the Top 3, but I had a blast competing and learned a lot about marketing myself and my music.

Right now, I'm booking and playing shows all over Vancouver while promoting my debut album "YOU & ME". The album is really a story of what two people can feel for each other. From fast-paced rock songs like Let Go - which tells the story of the cliche "girl meets boy/boy isn't considered good enough for girl/girl runs away with boy" story - to acoustic ballads like I Guess I Was Wrong and We Were Meant For Each Other, which both take a look at two different ways a relationship can go. Essentially, the songs take all the feelings of the human heart and wrap them up into "YOU & ME".
